WELCOME to my eLearning Weblog

I created this BLOG for my presentation at the ICTEV State Conference on the 24th May 2008 at Melbourne Grammar School, but I decided to keep it going and see what I can make of it as a tool for professional learning.

It is still VERY draft and subject to constant changes….which after all IS THE POINT of blogging, isn’t it.

I am eLearning Coordinator at Melbourne Grammar School, a large Independent Boys school in Australia. The school is technologically rich in that every student from Yr4 to Yr12 and every teacher has a Notebook Computer, there are scanners, printers, cameras and lots of other peripherals in classrooms and workrooms and for borrowing from the Library or our MultiMedia Manager. This year the school has opened a new totally wirelessly connected building which houses both IT services and Library services. students can sit anywhere and log into the school networks. My role is to support teachers in the effective take-up of computers and provide policy advice to management. I provide the necessary liaison between the IT Department and teachers and administration.

Alberto and Peter. Thank you very much for this session – there is so much potential with this tool. The trick is to inspire all teachers to establish a medium that encourages effective teaching and learning.
